PHILOSOPHY OF TEACHING
The beauty of education is witnessing the scholastic development in a child's mind. My philosophy is a constant reminder that my art classroom is a shared classroom with one goal; to learn while we create.
REFLECTION JOURNAL- PRACTICUM TEACHING
My first experience in the classroom was a moving one. I picked up cues not only from the other experienced educators but the students as well. I reflected in a daily observation with an easy to pull from "main idea" I took from the day.
REFLECTION JOURNAL- STUDENT TEACHING
Coming into my final semester in the classroom, I was honored to work with exceptional teachers that had truly honed their craft. I felt myself embrace their respective classrooms quickly after rapidly acknowledging that I was in for a wonderful experience.
LESSON PLAN EXAMPLES
Giving students a variety of means to reach their educational goals is something all educators should strive for. I personally try to see my lessons from the vantage point of each pupil, always questioning "where could their strengths and weaknesses impact them the most"?

PHILOSOPHY OF ASSESSMENT
Whether formative or summative, assessment is a means to evaluation. The goal is that student feedback aids throughout the creative process and the student finds themselves at ease with their appraisal.
RUBRIC EXAMPLE
Students evaluations should not come as a shock. Open discussion throughout the creative process as well as feedback will aid the student in finding their spot on any rubric that corresponds with the given assignment.
SELF-STUDY OF LEARNING SUMMATIVE REPORT
An investigative look into the development of student learning through analysis, feedback, and exploration.
SIX QUALITY CRITERIA OF ASSESSMENT
Knowing how to create an assessment that eliminates bias, aligns with provided material, and encompasses an appropriate learning level can be difficult. These six criteria were used to evaluate the assessment for its maximum potential.
MULTICULTURAL EDUCATION
Understanding and developing relationships with all students is essential for not only a safe classroom environment but one that puts learning ahead of anything else.
EXCEPTIONAL CHILDREN
Preparedness is key when teaching and working with all children. Lack of focus or attention is a common issue that I have attempted to tackle with this Attention Deficit Disorder cheat sheet.
PROFESSIONAL COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION
As a teacher your biggest resource is other teachers. I have found the scholastic environment within every school district has been one of encouragement with a bounty of ideas and support for my growth as an instructor.
